Issues / Platform Walter Petty for
Chatham County Commissioner District 5
|
Why
I'm running for office: For 30 yrs I have
served the citizens of this county in business, because
of that I have a good understanding of who they are,
what they expect of their county and the foundation it
was built on. I’m running to take that voice to our
county seat.
My top priorities:
1. I will concentrate on bringing
industry and jobs back to our county. We have vacant
facilities and a work force that many companies desire.
These jobs would help restore a solid financial base and
a sense of pride to our citizens. It would provide an
opportunity for our children to stay near home instead
of moving away in search of a career.
2.
I will implement responsible discretion in finances with
tax payer’s dollars. This would reduce the increasing
burden that tax payers are currently expected to bear in
unnecessary taxes and fees. |

Beliefs: |
|
- I do not support excessive taxing
to cover wasteful spending.
- I believe in an
individual’s liberties and freedom and oppose
anything that takes these God-given rights away.
- I strongly believe that
a county commissioner should be a voice of the
people they serve. Any program or decision made
should benefit the people they serve.
- Capitalism and Free
Enterprise is the foundation for a strong and
vibrant economy.
